Minutes from November meeting not discussed.
1. Update on website revamp
Ben Waller, who has agreed to do some voluntary work on re-vamping the Capital Tigers website, attended the meeting to give us a progress report. Ben advised:
- he has arranged access to a website platform, created with a football club environment in mind, that we can readily adapt/edit to our needs;
- ongoing hosting is included (so we won't need to pay annual hosting once we go over to the new arrangement), but we will still need to make the every-second-year renewal of our domain name and associated fee;
- we can set up a new suite of emails in the new platform;
- we can create new photo galleries, 'blog'/newsletter pages, 'shop' page (which can include paid events, raffles etc) - all easily accessible from the 'front' page;
- once we've got the basic structure settled down, we can edit pages, create new pages, etc, etc as required;
- we can set up a page structure that allows us to also link in the various RFC entities - AFL and AFLW, VFL and Port Melb (as 'our' VFLW), Korin Gamadji, etc;
- we can link between the website and Facebook;
- we can link in Square so that we can take payments via the website.
The committee:
- thanked Ben for his work to date;
- agreed that he should continue with the work, as per the agreed scope in the 'dot points' above; and
- confirmed approval of reimbursement to Ben for his purchase of the website platform, being the AUD equivalent of $US16 (see Minutes of November 2023 meeting).
RFC Communications
Following the discussions at the 2023 AGM (28 October 2023), the committee:
- agreed that that Raylene respond to Marcus' email about a 2024 contribution along the lines that $4K is taken as 'aspirational' without a firm commitment; and
- noted that may contact some of the other supporters' groups to get a general sense of their responses to RFC's current approach.
